Two days skippered sailing of the Thurne above Potter, Hickling and Horsey
We will be using three Hustlers for the skippered sails: Hustler 2 (Neil Hopkinson), Hustler 3 (John Moore) and Hustler 4 (Philip Bray). As each boat will have two friends per sailing and a total of 18 will enjoy the magic that is Hickling, Horsey Mere, Heigham Sound and Martham Broad.
The sail starts with the boats moored at a cottage beside the river above the Medieval bridge at Potter Heigham. We can pick you up from Cess Lane car park (Martham Boats) if you want to avoid the walk along the river bank.
There is enough time (so long as the wind blows) during the two days, to visit every corner of the Broads above Potter Heigham bridge. The last sail on Friday will take the boats back under the bridge to the Yard.
The NWT now owns much of where we are sailing. You can expect to see bittern, crane, spoonbill, avocet, curlew and we now have regular otter sightings.
Mid-sail, we will moor at Horsey and we will enjoy a meal at The Fisherman’s Rest in Winterton. You will be staying overnight at the Old Chapel Guest House on Horsey Corner. Transport will be provided to these.
Total cost is £240 per person including B&B (but not the evening meal).
